Public facilities in proximity or central locations, conceived as a large passive house, with passive operating strategies that reduce energy consumption to the point of self-sufficiency through the use of renewable energy. Environmental analysis also includes materials and the building’s life cycle LCA, the use and consumption of potable and non-potable water, the quality of the indoor environment, and adaptation to climate change.

TEAM
LBS Arquitectura is located in Barcelona, and was founded by Luis Beriain Sanzol, architect registered under No. 55014-0 with the Official Association of Architects of Catalonia (COAC).
Luis Beriain Sanzol (Pamplona, 1980) studied architecture at the School of Architecture of the University of Navarra ETSAUN and at the School of Architecture in Barcelona ETSAB. He graduated as an architect from the ETSA (School of Architecture) in Barcelona in 2006. He holds a Master’s degree in Architecture Design Theory and Practice from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia UPC in 2009.
Since 2011 he is an associate professor at the Department of Architectural Design DPA at the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya UPC, teaching at the Vallés School of Architecture ETSAV and the Barcelona School of Architecture ETSAB, in subjects such as “Forma i Espai”, “Bases for the project” (ETSAV) or the optional subject within the thematic area of Architecture and Climate Emergency at ETSAB “ Architectural Design and Sustainability. Environmental assessment in the design process .”
He is a Passive House Designer by the Passivhaus Institut (2016) and a GREEN Expert by the Green Building Council Spain (2021).
Since 2024, he has also been a professor in the Postgraduate Program in Bioclimatic Architecture and Certifications: LEED, BREEAM, PASSIVHAUS and CTE at the UPC School of Professional & Executive Development of the Polytechnic Foundation of Catalonia (FPC).

PEP, the Spanish Passivhaus Building Platform, and iPHA, the International Passive House Association, both committed to the dissemination and implementation of the Passive House standard
GBCe, Green Building Council Spain, recognized for its leadership in the environmental assessment of architecture through the VERDE certification
